Illumination

And the light shone forth,
finding its way to my heart,
where nothing could
dim its beauty.

And I witnessed the world
through the veil of my
love-filled eyes—
saw perfect imperfection,
innocence gained
and lost
and found again.

And I wondered at the
terrible simplicity
of a world whose light
—always present,
sometimes ignored—
continues to pulse its
invisible, universal
rhythms.
