Blind Date (part 4)

“Hello, Gemma.” Jim gives her a nervous smile that seems familiar in that déjà vu kind of way. “Nice to meet you.”

Gemma takes his hand, barely pressing against his soft skin, as she glances at the other tables to see if anyone heard his greeting. She’s not keen on the other diners knowing they haven’t met before this. The idea makes her feel like a loser. Desperate. Which she’s not. “Hello,” she replies, her voice cracking. She grimaces with embarrassment. “Mmm dry throat.”
