Moriah is crying out. The cat squirms in my arms as I try to maintain a hold on her. I don’t want her leave me alone here. She wins, leaping from my arms and running towards the entrance.
“Who are you?” I whisper, coming to my feet. “Why won’t you stay with me?” No answer. I think I can hear the blood running through my veins, the air is so still.
From out of the blackness now steps a woman. She looks just like me, only she is dressed completely in black, and her eyes look strange—they don’t reflect the smile on her lips.
