“It’ll be good for us to be somewhere else for awhile,” her dad said.
“We’ll be able to come back here when you’re done with your term? That’s what they said?” Ayn said.
“That’s the plan.”
“It’s weird to think of it being empty for the next two years,” she said. They’d already packed what they were going to take with them. The rest would stay here, or be moved to storage.
“It’s for the best,” her dad said, giving her a hug.
Ayn knew that he wanted that to be true. That taking this position in Father Gheraeld’s cabinet and leaving their home was the best thing for them. A new home, new faces, a challenging new position for him, and a top-notch school for her.
